Breaks of unusual winter heat temperature temperature

The unusually warm winter winning climate of southern California broke five temperature records on Thursday when a strong high pressure system pushed the thermometer at around 15 degrees above normal throughout the region.

The center of Los Angeles and Long Beach reached 88 degrees on Thursday of 88 degrees, breaking the respective records of 86 and 84 degrees established in 2020, according to the National Meteorological Service.

Los Angeles International Airport saw a record of 86 degrees, while UCLA broke its record with 85 degrees and Paso Robles with 82 degrees.

Much colder temperatures are expected on Friday, with maximums in the 60s and 70 higher, according to the weather service.

Although this week's warm climate may have caused an early appearance of flip flops and dress dresses, the forecast warns that this section of heat is not indicative of an early start for spring.

Several cold and humid storms are expected to drastically turn the prognosis for the weekend, which removes the Southland into the agony of winter, with temperatures below the average that probably remain in mid -March, according to the latest perspectives of the National Center for Climate Prediction.

“We are really going to be in the winter here the next few days with two or three fairly cold low pressure systems,” said Mike Wofford, a meteorologist from the National Meteorological Service in Oxnard. “It will be a quite dramatic change.”

The next cold front is Weather Whipland's last example that Southland has been experiencing this winter.

The New Year began with critically dry and hot conditions along with fierce winds from Santa Ana that fed one of the most expensive fire storms in modern history. Then, residents dealt with a rainwalk of rain, landslides and freezing temperatures during the night.
