People close to President Biden are reportedly “furious” that a pressure campaign calling for him to resign is gaining momentum.

Biden is in self-isolation in Rehoboth, Delaware, after testing positive for COVID-19.

“There is a lot of anger toward some donors who are talking about how the money will dry up if he doesn't step down, toward what they see as muted support from President Obama, and toward Democratic leaders who, according to one source, are 'hiding' behind statements,” CBS News journalist Robert Costa wrote on X. “If they want him gone, they will have to push back, the source added.”

Costa added that Biden feels “disrespected” but that no one has found “an effective way to calm this drift of nervous Democrats away from Biden and he knows that many Democrats simply want Biden to crack at some point soon.”

In recent weeks, several Democrats have called for Biden to drop out of the race amid questions about his health.

Sources told Fox News that Biden's COVID-19 diagnosis has forced him to slow down during a cooling-off period.

Democratic members of the House and Senate sense there is a shift in Biden's thinking that he will remain at the top of the ticket, the source said.
