Officials close to President Biden believe the upcoming State of the Union address could be an opportunity to reset or “neutralize” public perceptions about his age and memory ahead of the November election.
According to a Monday report from Axios, Biden's allies plan to spend hours on the text of his speech, as well as the president's physical preparation, to turn the prime-time speech into a campaign victory.
“Everyone around him is very aware, very aware, of the need to push this campaign forward,” said a source close to Biden. “The only way to deal with the negative consequences of the special prosecutor's report [criticizing Biden’s memory] “It's about the president being out there, being visible, having a strong presence and a strong voice.”
Biden is reportedly considering an executive order that could have a drastic impact on the flow of migrants crossing the US-Mexico border. Sources suggest the president could take action two weeks before the State of the Union address, allowing him to call for action on the crisis after Republicans moved to block a bipartisan border package.

Biden officials expect the public response to the speech to be similar to last year, when the president claimed Republicans intended to cut the Social Security and Medicare programs.
Plans to revitalize Biden's 2024 campaign follow the recent Hur report, which investigated the president's handling of classified documents, after the prosecutor, in his final report, noted that Biden had difficulty remembering details such as when he died your son.
While Hur's report decided not to prosecute Biden for criminal offenses, it characterized the president as an “old man with a bad memory” and generated a flurry of questions from reporters and comments from left-wing pundits.
The Associated Press recently reported that a group of liberal pundits, legal advisers and others are confident Biden will be re-elected but are urging him to prepare for the worst: another Trump presidency beginning in 2025.

“My impression is that the Biden administration is taking that potential threat very seriously and is trying to do things now,” Michael Linden, former associate executive director of the White House Office of Management and Budget during the administration, told the AP. of Biden. He though he added that there is no “magic bullet” to stop Trump if he takes office again. “No one should be under any illusion that there is anything this president can do in advance to prevent the next president from doing very harmful, potentially catastrophic things.”
The White House did not respond to Fox News Digital's request for comment.
