Berkeley's ex -wife arrested in relation to her murder in Greece

The Greek authorities arrested the ex -wife of an UC Berkeley teacher in relation to his murder in Athens earlier this month.

Marketing professor Przemyslaw Jeziorski was a fatal shot on July 4 in the Athens district of Agia Paraskevi, authorities told the Greek media to Vima.

Jeziorski, 43, was shot five times while walking towards his ex -wife's house to see his children. The authorities arrested their ex -wife and three additional suspects in relation to the shooting, police told the media. The media of San Francisco Chronicle and Greeks identified the ex -wife as Nadia Michelidaki.

The starting professor taught economics at the Berkeley Haas school for 13 years and was born in Poland, according to UC Berkeley.

The Hellenic police of Greece announced the arrests on Wednesday. The unidentified suspects were described as two national Albanians and a Bulgarian man. The authorities said the suspects led another man, who was Jeziorski's ex -wife, to the neighborhood and gave the partner an automatic gun.

The suspect shot Jeziorski five times and died in the place, police said. His ex -wife is a Greek citizen and the two were in the midst of a difficult custody dispute over his children, said Hellenic police in the media.

Jeziorski was an expert in quantitative marketing, industrial organization and economy of digital markets, according to UC Berkeley.

“Przemek was one of the most knowledgeable experts, if not the most knowledgeable, in empirical analysis in marketing in the world, so this is a tremendous loss for the field and for Haas,” said Professor Miguel Villas-Boas in a statement. “He was generous with his time, extremely concerned about the Haas community, brave to address important problems, full of grace and kindness, and a loving father.”

His mother, his brother and two children survive him.
