Luke Bryan was on a health journey during last night's episode of “American Idol” with the help of his co-judge Katy Perry.

During Sunday night's audition episode, Bryan walked into the room and saw an IV bag filled with a bright yellow liquid next to his chair behind the judges' table.

“Oh, God, here we go,” he said, seeing the IV bag and asking, “Is there urine in there?”

“They're vitamins!” Perry told him. “I knew I was going to give you vitamins this season, even if I had to stab you in the veins with them.”

The battle to get Bryan to take some health supplements during the long days and weeks of “American Idol” has apparently been ongoing.

A flashback montage showed that Bryan wasn't too interested in taking vitamin pills, while Perry was doing his best.

“These are called vitamins and after seven damn seasons, you haven't taken any of them!” he said in one clip.

In another, Bryan said, “I need Katy's vitamins,” and she yelled at him, “I told you! You'd be so much better off with some C, D, and Es!”

Back in the audition room, Perry filmed Bryan hooking up to the IV.

“Katy is making me take my first IV of vitamins,” he said into his phone.

Then he asked, “Why do we have to go down this path, Luke?” and she answered for him, “Since you don't take oral vitamins, we have to stick with them,” and he agreed.

Perry even jokingly offered to hold his hand while the needle was stuck in him and Bryan pretended to scream dramatically, but he was totally fine.

As the vitamins went in, he realized that he could taste and smell the vitamins as they began to work their way through his system, and he even felt a shiver down his arm where the needle was.

When contestant Aniston Pate entered the room, Bryan explained, “This is my first IV and I'm going through all the knowledge about it.”

Bryan was pleased with Pate's audition of an original country song she wrote with a friend, but he didn't applaud because he was worried about disturbing the IV.

Pate finally made it through, and Bryan noted that they had met in the hallway outside the audition room, joking, “I knew you before I became an IV addict.”

After the audition, the IV ended and the judges joked that Bryan must have needed those vitamins because it drained the IV bag. The doctor came and took out the needle, and he actually grimaced when they took the tape off and pierced the needle into its place.

Bryan battled an illness last year and had to cancel several concerts over the summer while on tour.

In August, he joked about the experience to an audience in Ohio, joking that he had “lost a tremendous amount of money” by missing those tour dates.

He got a little more serious and said, “I've never had to cancel in my career… I've never canceled one show, much less four, but man, you really learn that there's some—— out there.” “In the world. There's a guy on Twitter, I'm going to whip his ass when he sees it.”

The “But I Got a Beer in My Hand” singer had previously canceled shows in Mississippi, Washington, Utah and Idaho, explaining that he had been battling a “cold.”
