A 17 -year -old boy was arrested on Sunday morning on suspicion of shooting and killing a 12 -year -old boy in a Compton Park, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff department.
On Friday, the youngest child was shot in Fig/Oleander Park, a small recreation area of the city of Compton with a recreation courtyard, near the intersection of Oris Street and Oleander Avenue.
The authorities said that a man with black clothes and a black ski mask had been seen running from the area. The researchers collected evidence and identified the adolescent as their suspect, and a judge issued an arrest warrant.
The law agents arrested him around 10 am on Sunday and reserved him at a Sheriff station under suspicion of homicide. He was taken to a Youth Detention Center.
The victim was treated by Compton Firefighters paramedics on the scene and then transported to a hospital where doctors then declared him dead.
