A woman shared the sweet response she received from her neighbors after complaining about the loud volume of the piano her children were playing.
In a viral video on TikTok, London influencer Martina Panchetti showed viewers that her neighbors responded to Panchetti's letter asking if her children could avoid playing the piano early in the morning. She wrote in the video's overlay text: “We sent a letter to our neighbors politely asking them to make less noise and possibly avoid playing the piano too early in the morning.”
Inside a yellow envelope that said “to the neighbors” written in childish handwriting and a sticker of a cartoon globe was a letter written by the children and the mother next door. They began the sweet message by thanking the influencer for her “kind message.”
“We realize that we can be loud and mischievous at times,” the letter continues. “We started learning piano and our teachers tell us to practice every day. But we sincerely apologize for not considering daytime and weekend schedules.”
They admitted that Panchetti wasn't the only one frustrated by his morning practice, writing, “To be honest, Mom has been telling us not to play in the mornings and also wants to get some sleep on the weekends. “We promise you and our mommy that we will try to be more considerate.”
In addition to the letter, the neighbors sent some “Azerbaijani national sweets” to further demonstrate their willingness to engage and work with Panchetti. The influencer noted in her caption that she planned to return the favor with an edible treat inspired by her Italian heritage.
Since the video was posted in March, it has garnered more than 668,000 likes and 8.7 million views on the platform, with viewers praising both sides for how they handled the noise complaint.
“This would make me want to make you guys an apology basket,” one user wrote.
“Helping parents too,” someone commented. “It's a great learning moment for children to be considerate of others even when they can't see them!”
“The way the writing randomly changes to cursive,” another added, noting that the mother probably wrote the part in cursive because she wasn't a fan of morning piano practice.
Others shared their own experiences dealing with noisy neighbors and the healthy surprises they encountered.
“We had a neighbor who practiced saxophone outside every afternoon,” one person recalled. “At first it was horrible, but over time it became very nice to sit outside and be serenaded with beautiful music.”
“We live in a building with older people and I just had a baby. One day I apologized in the elevator for her crying,” another said, detailing her experience as a new mother who lives near elderly people. “My neighbor said, 'I love hearing her cry, I miss when my kids were little so she makes me smile hearing babies in the building.'”
