I am Zach Cregger, writer and director of “Weapons”. Then, at this point in the film, Justine Gandy, who is the teacher who presides over the class that disappeared, by the way, interpreted by the brilliant Julia Garner, has frustrated with the lack of action and the satisfaction of the authorities that she has decided to take on herself to have some clarity about this mystery. And the only advantage he has is the child who did not miss, [DOOR KNOCK] “Hello?” That is Alex Lily, played by Cary Christopher. Then, in this scene, she arrives at her house. He followed him from the bus stop, and decides to move on and play the door because there was something a bit strange in the way the door opened and closed so perfectly when he entered his house. The baby's first track that we have to something wrong with this child is that there is a newspaper above all the windows, so he decides to sniff a little more. And that is what takes her to the backyard, which is obviously, has now transgressed her property and curiosity killed the cat. And we all know that this is a bad idea, but this is what people do in horror movies. [CICADA SOUNDS] It was fun to try to create the tension here just being in your POV and study the newspaper as you would have studied. And also, it was very fun to play with the diegetic sound of the cicadas and start the choir of insects to become the score. Obviously, we have this type of low and drone threat that robbed David Lynch, but to let insects really do much of heavy work to create this type of fear tone was something fun to work in the edition. It was also a fun challenge here to create a scare of jump where nothing moves. The scare is the time when we realize that there are two people sitting still, and that the stillness is actually what is perverse about what is happening inside.
