Gradually pour the mixture into the pot, stirring to incorporate. Cook, uncovered, for 5 to 10 minutes, stirring several times, until the potatoes are tender, the onion is tender and crisp, and the hash is very thick and bubbly. Taste and season with salt and/or pepper, as needed. If you have warm cookies, pour the hash over each serving and serve.
