The best (and worst) ads from Super Bowl 2024

Super Bowl LVIII will leave viewers with an influx of celebrity-filled commercials as brands try to win over customers during what could also be called the Super Bowl of advertising.

This year, the football game will be played at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada on Sunday, February 11 and will be available to watch on C.B.S. and transmitting in Supreme+. In November 2023, the hollywood reporter reported that the network had sold out all of its Super Bowl commercial slots and had asked for $7 million for 30-second spots.

The ads are known for entertaining less avid football fans during breaks in the game, and many brands have already started showing their commercials in the two weeks leading up to the big game.

These are some of the best (and worst) Super Bowl ads released so far.

Nerds starring Addison Rae

The candy company will make its commercial debut at the Super Bowl advertising its Nerds Gummy Clusters this year. In the trailer posted to the company's YouTube channel, Rae is training a “mystery student” in a dance for a performance set to Irene Cara's 1983 hit, “What a Feeling.”

Oreo starring Kris Jenner

Kris Jenner is making her Super Bowl commercial debut by throwing it back to 2007, with the ad paying homage to the moments and cookies that have played a role in the family's fame over the past 17 years. The ad's sneak peek shows the reality star standing next to a container of stacked Oreos just as her daughter Khloe had shown viewers many years ago on her pantry tour.

The message “It all starts with a twist this February” reads on the screen and clues fans into the fact that there will be more throwback references in the Super Bowl ad.

popeyes

The Louisiana-themed fried chicken franchise will also make its commercial debut at the Super Bowl in 2024. In the teaser the brand posted on its YouTube channel, the mascot, a chicken named Poppy, announced a promotion in which if a team with wings ends up winning In the game, customers can win a free six-pack of wings with their order.

The fast food chain will also feature an ad featuring comedian Ken Jeong.

Hellmann's starring Kate McKinnon

Kate McKinnon stars in her first Super Bowl commercial with Hellmann's Mayonnaise. The trailer published on the brand's YouTube channel presents the Saturday night live The student has a photo session with a fictional cat named Mayo Cat.

“Mommy, give me the mayonnaise,” says a charismatic photographer during the session. McKinnon struggles to smile as Mayo Cat perches on his shoulders. “Give me tag! Give me a label! adds the photographer. McKinnon gives a pained smile as he tries to hold more jars of Hellmann's mayonnaise.

Pringles

Chip brand Pringles took to Instagram to tease its next ad, which will debut during the February 11 football game. “The big game is almost here, so we're upping our mustache game. Who do you think it belongs to? the title asked viewers.

The post itself showed a photo of the Pringles mascot, which is a white oval with black eyes and eyebrows and most of the oval taken up by a giant curly mustache. Next to the logo is a photo of the mustache of a man who will likely be the star of the commercial. “Once you see it… you can't unsee it,” read the text surrounding the images. The favorite in the comments section seemed to be Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce.

The brand has since confirmed in an Instagram post on Wednesday, January 24 that the signature mustache belongs to Chris Pratt and that he will appear in the commercial during the big game. The teaser shows the actor having a starring contest with the chip brand's mascot.

Drumstick starring Eric André

Anheuser-Busch's Budweiser is another beet brand that will also appear at this year's Super Bowl. One commercial that many people look forward to each year are Anheuser-Busch commercials featuring the beloved, iconic Clydesdales and sometimes a cute, fluffy pup.

Last year, fans were outraged that the iconic horses had minimal screen time, so this year they appear to be highlighted in their announcement trailer.

Uber Eats starring David and Victoria Beckham

Uber Eats enlisted the help of David and Victoria Beckham for its 30-second ad at this year's Super Bowl.

The brand's teaser pays homage to an iconic scene from her Netflix docuseries in which Victoria claimed she came from a “working class” upbringing when David appeared from behind a door frame telling her to “Be honest” and making her admit that his father drove a Rolls Royce. In the clip, Victoria can be seen wearing a T-shirt that says, “My dad had a Rolls-Royce,” while the couple forgets the Super Bowl's name other than Jennifer Aniston, mistakenly calling her “Jessica.”

Uber Eats starring Jennifer Aniston and David Schwimmer

The food delivery brand continued showing its commercial this time using the Friends students Jennifer Aniston and David Schwimmer.

This preview sticks to the theme of “oblivion,” as Schwimmer approaches Aniston and she has no idea who he is despite playing love interests on the sitcom for 10 years. The commercial's tagline reads: “Whatever you forget, remember, UberEats gets it all.”

Dunkin' starring Ben Affleck and Jack Harlow

The ad primarily features Aubrey Plaza as she names the many places where people can “have a blast.” The end of the commercial even shows her having fun as she rides dragons alongside her ex. Parks and Recreation co-star, Nick Offerman.

As for the court judge, Judge Judy also made an appearance with Meghan Trainor as one of the jurors, as Torres is on the stand for spending too much money on makeup.

Skechers starring Tony Romo and Mr. T

Tony Romo will appear at the Super Bowl to remind viewers that the shoe brand doesn't spell its name with the letter “t.”

The actor then disagrees with this statement. “With these Hands Free Slip-ins technology, they make it super easy to say the 't' to Skechers!” said Mr. T. “Just walk in and now you'll be in the big game too with Skechers! I pity the fool who bends over and deals with pointless cords!

Dressed like an old-school NFL player, Sir Patrick throws Arnold into the air, but not quite. “Very close,” he says, as Creed's music fades and he directs his attention to Peppa Pig. Drew Barrymore, Jeff Probst and Thomas Lennon also appear alongside the cartoon characters.

cetaphil

The skincare brand decided to dive headfirst into the “Taylor Swift” effect in football, as its commercial shows a teenage girl using skincare products while her father watches football.

After the father watches his daughter get sucked into the soccer game after hearing that Taylor Swift would be attending, the bond grows closer when her father gives her his own jersey with Swift's lucky number 13 on it. The ad ends with them sitting on the couch wearing the singer's friendship bracelets while watching the game.
