June 23rd holds a special place in the couple's hearts as it was the date they decided to hold on to each other. Now as husband and wife, Sonakshi and Zaheer looked ethereal in pastel shades. Zaheer looked elegant in a simple white embroidered kurta that complemented his beautiful bride who took the sustainable route on her big day.
Sonakshi embodied grace and elegance in a simple and elegant saree that she adorned. News18 learned that the saree adorned by Sonakshi is one of his mother Poonam Sinha's vintage saree. The intricately embroidered saree added a minimalist look to Sonakshi's intimate wedding celebrations. A true blessing indeed! Sonakshi paired the saree with a simple striped blouse.
The wedding look also included a necklace that also belonged to her mother. The pearl necklace embellished with gemstones added a touch of sparkle to Sonakshi's minimalist look. Her hair was up in a bun and adorned with fresh white roses. Keeping makeup to a minimum, Sonakshi's bridal glow was the highlight of the ceremony.
Surrounded by smiles and happiness, Sonakshi and Zaheer issued a heartfelt statement. They said: “That same day, seven years ago (06/23/2017), in each other's eyes, we saw love in its purest form and decided to hold on to it. Today that love has guided us through all the challenges and triumphs… that led us to this moment… where with the blessings of our families and our gods… we are now husband and wife. For love, hope and all beautiful things with each other, from now until forever.”
The ceremony was attended by Sonakshi's parents Shatrughan Sinha and Poonam Sinha, Zaheer Iqbal's father Iqbal Ratansi, his sister Sanam Ratansi, Huma Qureshi, Saqib Saleem, Aditi Rao Hydari, Siddharth among others.
The couple will celebrate their wedding with a big party and friends from the film industry are expected to attend. We look forward to seeing what Sonakshi and Zaheer will wear at their reception party.
