Australia is where familiarity meets the discovery, a place that feels at home and that fills it with amazement, ”says Sara Tendulkar.
Sara Tendulkar, daughter of the Legend of Cricket Sachin Tendulkar, is going on the world stage in her own right. The 27 -year -old has been announced as the new brand ambassador for the International Tourism campaign of Australia, Say G'day, a two -year global initiative, according to reports, a value of USD 130 million. The campaign, which was first launched in 2022 with its animated pet Ruby The Roo, will now launch new creatives in key markets, including China, India, Japan and the United Kingdom before the end of the year.
Uniting an impressive list that includes the United Kingdom food writer Nigella Lawson, the conservationist of wildlife Robert Irwin, Chinese actor Yosh Yu, the Japanese comedian Abreeru-Kun and the Australian actor Thomas Weatheall, the presence of Sara is designed to attract Indian travelers, particularly young audiences, for the earth.
In an exclusive conversation, Sara shared how she sees her role and what makes Australia such an irresistible destination for the Indians.
About what will resonate with Indian travelers
“The warmth and cozy spirit of Australia will feel instantly familiar,” he said. “Multicultural food and the prosperous culture of coffee in cities like Melbourne and Sydney provide comfort, while the vast landscapes, unique wildlife and the outdoor lifestyle add a sense of astonishment. And, of course, love shared by the Cricket connects us deeply, you will always find someone who speaks in Australia, which makes the Indians feel at home.”
About sustainable travel inspiration
Sara also hopes to use its platform to highlight conscious ways to explore the country. “Being ambassador is about encouraging people to travel with more attention. Australia has so many experiences rooted in nature, indigenous culture and local communities, and I would love to inspire travelers to explore them in a way that supports sustainability. It's about going beyond tourism to create significant and durable connections with a place.”
Adventure or relaxed life?
When asked what side of Australia's character attracts him more, Sara admits that she is attracted to both. “There is an undeniable emotion in the adventure, whether snorkeling in the great barrier of reefs or exploring outback. But I also enjoy the calm of Australia's beaches, local markets and coffee culture. Australia's beauty is that you don't have to choose; you can live both experiences on a trip.”
Balance familiarity with discovery
Indian travelers often seek comfort along with cultural discovery, and Sara believes that Australia offers exactly that. “The cities like Sydney and Melbourne are a perfect balance, you can have a world -class coffee and at the same time discover indigenous history through walking tours and cultural centers. Coastal escapes such as the great path of the ocean bring relaxed luxury, while food lovers can enjoy local tastings in many regions. Australia proves that you do not have to give up the comfort to discover something new.”
About the use of digital narration to inspire trips
With its strong presence in social networks, Sara intends to make Australia aspirational but accessible. “I believe in sharing trips while experimenting it authentically. Through photos, short videos and personal stories, I want to show that Australia is not only aspirational, it is possible. By mixing beautiful images with practical advice, I hope to inspire my audience to see Australia not as a distant dream but as his next real trip to create the best Christmas memories.”
As they come and say that G'day lives worldwide, Sara Tendulkar is hiding her own path, from the daughter of the Cricket's gift to a global voice to travel. His new perspective, digital influence and his ability to unite cultures could be the spark that inspires more Indians to pack their bags and discover Australia.
