Elated and proud to represent her film on such a major platform and to wear a piece of her mother’s creations, Sanya took to Instagram to share a heartfelt note dedicated to her mother. Sanya says, “This one is for you, Mom. From a very young age, my mother was my personal stylist, designing and stitching clothes for my sister and me. She dedicated herself to not only raising us but also keeping us updated when it came to fashion. Mom always told me that she dreamed of studying fashion, but it wasn’t financially viable at the time. Instead, she poured all her creativity into dressing us beautifully, so much so that I still seek her advice before any big event. I wanted to honour her by wearing one of her creations at the Melbourne Indian Film Festival for the screening of a film that is close to my heart, ma’am.”

Sanya adorned diamond polki pieces strung with sheeshpatti pearls in jadau art celebrating the rich heritage and meticulous craftsmanship of Shri Paramani Jewels.

The look was done by celebrity fashion stylists Manisha Melwani and Bidipto Das, and Sanya’s makeup was done by Natasha Mathias Dsouza. Another highlight of this contemporary Indian look was the jewellery she wore with the ensemble. The traditional jewellery, which embodied the rich heritage and meticulous craftsmanship of Shri Paramani Jewels, included a sheeshpatti (decorative headband) made up of diamond polki, pearls, jadau art and jhumkas (earrings). Sanya completed the look with a clutch from Tasna. Sanya’s overall style seemed straight out of Sharmila Tagore’s look in the film Kashmir Ki Kali.

Happy to see her daughter, Sanya express her love for her, Renu shared her thoughts, she commented below the post, which read, “Sanya… Thank you mere bachche for this special note. To the doll, my two girls gave me immense pleasure during their growing years and today too, when you wear my creations on such big platforms, I feel proud and grateful to the Almighty. God bless you, I love you!”
