A famous New York City bakery has just added a delicious $300 gold-encrusted donut to its menu.
Angelina Bakery, a candy store with locations throughout Manhattan, is upping the value of its bomboloni, often compared to donuts, with an expensive one-of-a-kind flavor topped with edible jewels and diamond pearls.
According East Side FeedInterested customers can pre-order the new item at the Upper East Side bakery, located between 92nd and 93rd streets.
The unique bomboloni is said to be completely covered in gold flakes. Colorful jewels are carefully placed on top and lined with small pearls. Inside, the dough is filled with cream.
Angelina Bakery's original Instagram post has since been deleted. However, a video shared by TikTok food influencer Cornelia shows the expensive dessert in all its glory.
Cornelia showed how she opened the bomboloni, which came in a black case from Tiffany & Co. In images posted on November 10, the content creator can be seen unzipping the square casing as dry ice pours out.
“24k gold diamond bomboloni!! “Who would buy?” said the legend of Cornelia. The self-proclaimed foodie did not film herself eating the donut.
On Instagram, Antonio Park, owner of Angelina Bakery, reposted Cornelia's video with a screenshot of the bakery's advertisement on Page six.
“The clientele here (the Upper East Side) is high-end, so the new bomboloni seem perfect,” Park told the outlet.
the independent has contacted Angelina Bakery to find out if the edible gem bomboloni is still available.
Park's dedication to maintaining the opulence of her business is demonstrated in her past pastry promotions and unique concoctions.
Before Valentine's Day last year, the bakery debuted a special “burnt cake.” When touched with a blowtorch, the top layer of the heart-shaped cake slowly melted to reveal a hidden design beneath.
“OMG this is so cool,” one excited customer wrote in an Instagram video of the themed cake. Meanwhile, other viewers desperately pleaded with Park to do “gender reveal” covers.
“You can order a custom cake after the holidays, we are very busy for New Years and Valentine's Day we cannot place any custom orders in the next few weeks, but we usually accept custom cake orders,” Park told eager customers at the time .
