Ms. Rachel reveals in a new song that her son Thomas was born after a miscarriage and calls him her “rainbow baby.”

Underneath an Instagram video, YouTube child sensation Ms. Rachel, whose real name is Rachel Griffin Accurso, wrote an emotional caption explaining the background behind her new song.

“My rainbow baby is no longer a baby, but he will always be my rainbow baby,” she said. “Lots of love to whoever understands.”

“Rainbow baby” is defined as a baby born after a miscarriage, stillbirth, or neonatal death, a way of acknowledging that the baby is a blessing and a miracle after going through difficult times. In the video, Ms. Rachel plays the piano and sings the lyrics: “Rainbow baby, dream come true. Rainbow baby, if you know, every prayer we said for you. Rainbow baby, dream come true.”

Fans were incredibly supportive of Ms. Rachel and her sweet song.

“The way you can reach children and parents with your talent is truly a gift,” one user commented.

“Thank you for using your platform to break the silence,” added another.

Some people shared their own experiences in the comments section.

“My daughter is a rainbow baby,” one user wrote. “Seven miscarriages and 19 years of grueling IVF with no success. We finally got our rainbow.”

“I was telling my daughter that she is my dream come true,” another person shared. “She hugged me and told me that I was hers.”

“Sending you all my love,” added another. “I had 3 miscarriages, my 4 year old son, and two miscarriages, my 7 month old son. It’s so hard. Big hug.” [and] “Thank you for using this space to share your truth! It will help heal hearts!”

Ms. Rachel and her husband, Aron Accurso, welcomed Thomas in 2018, who was the inspiration behind her successful YouTube channel, “Songs For Littles,” which teaches children their first words. The educator and songwriter has amassed more than 11 million subscribers on the platform.

Last year, Accurso spoke with People on balancing motherhood with her YouTube career.

“It’s been hard to balance everything, I think that’s what a lot of parents feel, but for me it was really important to have all that knowledge and early childhood to be in this field,” she told the outlet. “I felt like it was crucial for me to have that and I feel more confident. I feel like I have a lot of tools.”

She added: “I have learned how to help parents and I think I have a good work-life balance. Sometimes it takes us a while to get things done, but it is important for me to have that.”
