Love is blind Viewers share on TikTok how they can watch the popular series “blindly.”
After premiering in 2020, the popular Netflix reality show returned with its sixth season last week on Valentine's Day, and some fans have revealed their unique way of tuning into the drama. Hosted by Nick and Vanessa Lachey, the reality show heads to Charlotte, North Carolina, where a new group of singles are trying to find love.
By removing the visual aspect of the program, they believe that they can fully accept the concept of the program. For the first few episodes of the show, viewers covered their televisions or devices to experience the show the same way the contestants do, by not seeing any of them until the reveals.
One TikTok user (@ktsumsion) revealed that she and her friends watch the show by covering their TV with a blanket, showing only a small portion of the screen so they can read the subtitles. When engaged couples reveal how they see each other for the first time on the show, they pull the rug out from under them. She posted the video with the caption: “This was fun! If you haven't started this season you should try it!
The method received a mixed reaction on the social media platform, with some viewers pointing out that watching without footage could get more confusing as the episodes progress and the contestants get involved.
One person wrote: “My best friend and I did this and it honestly made it SO confusing. We had to bring in someone else to tell us who [was] on screen/speaking.” The TikTok user responded saying, “Yes! It was difficult! But the revelations were worth it!”
Meanwhile, someone else wrote that they loved the idea: “Love is blind “It should be a podcast with one final video episode per season.” Another added: “I've always said I think I should be blind to viewers and no one listens to me!”
“It would be great if they released two different versions of the show that didn't show people until the reveal,” one person said. “I would love that!”
This season, a new cast of singles will participate in the “blind date” social experiment, and the show will take viewers up the East Coast to Charlotte, North Carolina, where the entire cast lives. Previous seasons were filmed in locations across the United States, including Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, Seattle, and Houston.
