Lindsay Lohan explains why she left Hollywood and how she found romance in Dubai


Lindsay Lohan has candidly revealed the reason she decided to leave Hollywood.

speaking to Bustle In an exclusive interview, the 37-year-old mother admitted that her move from the United States was necessary to escape the public spotlight. A little more than 10 years ago, the Bad Girls Lead left the United States for London before permanently residing in Dubai, where she eventually met her husband, Bader Shammas.

Lohan reflected on what influenced her need to leave the country, citing the endless swarm of paparazzi as a major one. “I feel that some of [my work] I got overshadowed by paparazzi and all that kind of stuff when I was younger, and that's a little annoying. I wish that part hadn’t happened,” she said in the article published on March 14.

“I feel like that took on a life of its own. That's why she wanted to disappear. I thought, 'Unless there's no story here, they're not going to just focus on my work.'”

Apart from wanting to escape from the press, the Strange Friday The actor left in search of a different kind of attention: romance. “I thought, 'What if I never fall in love?' What if this never happens?'” he confessed. “And it took me just taking the time for all those doors to open and the 'yeses' to come, the things I wanted to say 'yes' to.”

Although she was already close with her four younger siblings, Lohan wanted to experience a new kind of companionship besides motherhood. “I have always been close to my younger brothers and have always had a maternal instinct,” she noted. “Parents give that [responsibility] to [oldest children]also.”

“Everyone is losing a lot of weight now. I feel like everything is coming full circle, so this is that time, and this too shall pass. But it seems like there is pressure,” added the Netflix regular. However, Lohan managed to stay focused on Luai instead of her appearance.

She said: “I was so attached to [Luai] that my last thought was to get on a treadmill. I feel like we put a lot of pressure on ourselves to have to look 'good' so soon, but you look so beautiful. [postpartum]. Give yourself time”.
