Beyoncé Responds to Hair Care Critics with Wash Day Routine

Get ready with Bey: Beyoncé shared a rare behind-the-scenes look at her wash routine on Monday, dismissing critics of her hair-care line credentials with a close-up look at her natural locks.

The ultra-private “Cowboy Carter” singer joined the viral hair care trend and posted a nearly two-minute clip that takes her followers through the multi-step process of caring for her dyed locks. In it, she explained how she keeps her blonde hair textured with the seven-product regimen (and other tools) and subtly talked about her “long and healthy” hair.

“It's been such a special experience seeing all of your #cecredwashday rituals all over my timeline… I just had to join something I had in the archives 🥰,” the Cécred founder wrote on Instagram, setting her founder video with his new Track “Bodyguard”.

“Being disruptive and challenging everything that people think the process should be has always been exciting to me. “My hair and my music seemed to do that a lot over the years…” she wrote. “Maintaining 25 years of blonde hair on natural hair through all the experiments I do has played a huge role in the development of @cecred products. It's the hardest thing to keep colored hair healthy and strong, but @cecred is here. All quality, NO shortcuts. Congratulations to the entire CÉCRED team for contributing to the development of award-winning products. 💕Happy #cecredwashday! You are CÉCRED.”

The Grammy winner, who launched her luxury line in February, added that she is very proud of the quality of her products. And, sitting in several living room chairs during the tutorial, she took her fans to wash, condition and style her locks. She said she blow-drys her hair on medium heat using a Dyson Airwrap attachment, straightens it, and uses “an old-school press comb” to straighten her curly hair.

“My hair has never grown so much, it has never been so hydrated and I have managed to maintain my texture and my curls even with my hair so blonde. And my hair is blooming,” she said in voiceover.

“The stigma and misconception that people who wear wigs don't have long, healthy hair. That's bullshit,” she crooned, “because it's nobody's business.”

On Cécred's official Instagram account, the brand said the line “exists so that anyone has the opportunity to present themselves however they want. There's no better way to celebrate than with our founder, @beyonce, sharing hers.”
