When Pakistan elected Shehbaz Sharif as its 24th Prime Minister, congratulations and best wishes from world leaders poured in on the new Prime Minister, who took the reins of the country for the second consecutive time.

Shehbaz was sworn in on Monday, a day after being elected prime minister, retaining the title after his 16-month stint in the most coveted position, from April 2022 to August 2023.

Different world leaders congratulated the newly elected prime minister for assuming the position of chief executive of the country and wished him success during the next five years of government.

Saudi Arabia's Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman congratulated Shehbaz after taking the oath, according to the state report. Radio Pakistan.

The crown prince wished success to the new prime minister and the people of Pakistan continued progress and prosperity.

US Ambassador to Pakistan Donald Blome also congratulated Prime Minister Shehbaz on assuming office.

In his message on social media platform

UK Foreign Secretary Lord David Cameron said he looks forward to working with Prime Minister Shehbaz and his administration.

“This is a critical moment in Pakistan's history. The new Government must work for all citizens of Pakistan and make crucial reforms,” ​​he wrote in X.

Furthermore, Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas also congratulated the new prime minister in a letter and expressed his best wishes for his leadership and the nation.

In his message, Abbas said that Palestine and Pakistan are united by a strong and historical bond and that Pakistan has always raised its voice for the rights and justice of the Palestinian people.

He prayed for the development and prosperity of Pakistan.

President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon in his congratulatory message emphasized that his country and Pakistan will enhance and expand the long-term bilateral partnership through joint efforts.

He said the two countries are bound by long traditions of friendship, mutual understanding, respect and trust.

Rahmon further stated that the multifaceted cooperation between Pakistan and Tajikistan, based on such good traditions, is constantly developing and enriched with new contents.

Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim phoned and congratulated his newly elected Pakistani counterpart Shehbaz on taking oath of office as Prime Minister.

Responding, Prime Minister Shehbaz said that Pakistan and Malaysia have long-standing brotherly relations and also expressed his desire to promote their trade and diplomatic relations with Malaysia.

Earlier, Turkish and Iranian presidents also congratulated Shehbaz on becoming prime minister.

On Sunday, Shehbaz became the country's prime minister, winning 201 votes with the support of his party and seven other allies.

His victory was expected as he had the support of seven other parties besides the PML-N. The newly elected Prime Minister has the support of Pakistan People's Party (PPP), Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P), Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q), Balochistan Awami Party (BAP ), Pakistan Muslim League-Zia (PML-Z), Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party (IPP) and National Party (NP).

This is the second consecutive time that Shehbaz has been elected chief minister. Earlier, he was elected Pakistan's 23rd prime minister after Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan was ousted from power through a no-confidence motion in 2022.

Shehbaz served as chief minister from April 11, 2022 to August 2023 and handed over the reins of government to an interim organization.
