PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) hardline chief minister Ali Amin Gandapur on Monday skipped the swearing-in ceremony of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif held at the President House.

A loyal supporter of Imran Khan refused to attend the function, saying that he does not possess Form 45 and will therefore not participate in his oath-taking ceremony.

Speaking to the media before the swearing-in, Gandapur said he will not participate in the prime minister's swearing-in ceremony.

He said that the chief minister is not the one who has Form 45 and was selected by the returning officers (RO). The Prime Minister stated that it is not correct to take the oath.

While Gandapur skipped the event in line with his party's stance of “rigging” in the February 8 elections, President Arif Alvi, a staunch supporter of Imran Khan, administered oath to Shehbaz Sharif, who was elected to the post highest in the country for the second time.

The swearing-in ceremony, held at Aiwan-e-Sadr, was attended by outgoing caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar and his cabinet members, parliamentarians, chairman of the joint chiefs of staff committee, service chiefs , governors and chief ministers. and diplomats.

PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif, Pakistan Peoples Party MPs Chairman Asif Ali Zardari, Pakistan Peoples Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, other political leaders including Hamza Shehbaz, Aleem Khan, Raja Zafarul Haq, Ahsan Iqbal and Khawaja Muhammad Asif, and also senior officials. He attended the ceremony.
