WhatsApp is adding events to group chats, but how?

In its latest update for iOS, WhatsApp has announced that it is widely rolling out an exciting new feature that will allow users to organize events in their group chats.

Meta's instant messaging app is now expanding this feature, which was previously limited to community group chats, to regular group chats. Information from WABeta reported.

The new feature is part of the “WhatsApp for iOS 24.15.79” update, which is available on the App Store.

According to the official changelog, the option to organize events allows users to enter event details such as name, description, date, optional location, and choose between a voice or video call.

Once the event has started, all members who accepted the invitation will receive a notification to keep them informed.

Event details are always end-to-end encrypted, ensuring that only group chat participants have access to the information, maintaining privacy and confidentiality.

It's important to note that some accounts may receive it over the next few weeks, as noted in the official changelog.
