Usher and Jennifer Goicoechea get married on Super Bowl Sunday

Usher and his girlfriend Jennifer Goicoechea didn't compete in the Super Bowl this weekend, but they did manage to win a couple of different rings.

The R&B star and music executive tied the knot on Sunday, according to the Clark County Clerk's Office database. It's unclear whether Usher, 45, and Goicoechea, 40, exchanged vows before or after the “Yes!” The striking acquisition of the singer at the halftime of Super Bowl LVIII.

The couple tied the knot just days after they applied for and obtained their marriage license in Las Vegas on Thursday, The Times confirmed. A representative for the “Love in This Club” hitmaker did not immediately respond to The Times' request for comment Monday.

Usher, whose full name is Usher Raymond IV, married Goicoechea almost six years after sparking romance rumors. Speculation began in 2018 when Goicoechea posted a photo on Instagram of herself with a group of men, including Usher. “Boys club,” she captioned the photo.

The duo was seen together again in 2019 and welcomed their first child, Sovereign Bo Raymond, in August 2020, Us Weekly reported. Then in May 2021, Usher revealed that Goicoechea had a second child on the way. Baby Sire Castello Raymond was born in September.

In addition to Sovereign and Sire, the R&B star shares children Usher Raymond V and Naviyd Ely with his ex-wife and fashion designer Tameka Foster, to whom he was married from 2007 to 2009. Usher was also previously married to writer Grace Harry from 2015 to 2018.

News of the duo's nuptials broke after Usher's dazzling halftime performance at Super Bowl LVIII at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas. Usher, who had spent more than a year and a half serenading famous fans during his 100-date residency at the Park MGM resort, gave the crowd a rundown of his most popular hits, including “Caught Up,” “My Boo” and “Sees it”. in this club.”

Joining the Grammy winner for his spectacular circus, skates, pop and lock were Alicia Keys, Will.i.am, Ludacris, Lil Jon, HER and Jermaine Dupri.

Between preparing to get married and headlining the Super Bowl halftime show, Usher has been hard at work this month. His ninth studio album, “Coming Home,” went on sale Friday. Days before he announced his Past, Present Future tour, which will begin on August 16 in Atlanta. It comes to Inglewood's Intuit Dome on September 21, with additional shows on September 22, 24 and 25.

For years, romance has been at the forefront of Usher's music, and this new chapter is no different, he told The Times earlier this year.

“Who the hell said romance is out of fashion? “There's no way you can tell me that we live in a world where we don't want to take our time and slow down to be romantic with each other,” Usher said. “If you have free time, how much do you choose to spend it with someone? Is he even capable of being romantic? “I think those songs from our past help us understand how to be men who can be romantic with women.”

Months before his big show, Usher told People about his relationship with Goicoechea, praising her as “an incredible partner, [and] a support system.” He touted their “incredible dynamics” and their ability to communicate with their children.

“I'm very happy, very lucky to have an incredible friend, not just a partner,” he said. “She's my best friend and I love her.”
