LinkedIn, known as a professional recruiting and networking platform with more than one billion users, is expanding into gaming to offer a more satisfying user experience and increase length of stay on the platform. TechCrunch reported.

This move by LinkedIn, which seemed quite surprising, was actually made after the high level of success of simple puzzle games like Wordle and now the company has decided to try a new way of user engagement on LinkedIn.

LinkedIn's first foray into the world of video games by introducing titles like “Queen,” “Inference” and “Crossclimb” fueled the puzzle craze that touched millions of gamers.

A LinkedIn spokesperson has confirmed the playful aspect of the project, but an official launch date is not yet known. The spokesperson highlighted that the integration of puzzle games within the platform became a strategy to enhance enjoyment, increase connections and activate quality discussions among users.

As part of Microsoft that governs the gaming industry, including Xbox and the recent acquisition of Activation Blizzard, the move into gaming aligns with Microsoft's gaming position. But the form and nature of Microsoft's involvement in LinkedIn's gaming initiative cannot be revealed.

While recent additions to the platform were associated with professional development and content creation, the introduction of games reveals a strategic evolution in response to growing user interests.
