Susan Boyle reacts with gratitude after Timothée Chalamet named her one of his greatest British heroes, a moment the singer described as deeply moving and humbling.

He was referring to his interpretation of I dreamed a dream of Les Miserableswhich surprised judges and viewers and quickly became a viral sensation.

Boyle responded by saying she was “very flattered” by the recognition.

Recalling that life-changing moment, he added: “Those first few days were extraordinary, and knowing that that moment meant something to you all these years really humbles me.”

She continued by sharing a message of encouragement: “We all start somewhere, with a dream and a little hope, right? We should all dream big!”

In a heartfelt note to the actor, Boyle added: “I wish you every success as you continue to dream your own dream. Thank you for your kindness and for remembering that moment so fondly. Love, Susan.”

Chalamet made the comments while promoting his new film marty supreme.

As part of the promotion, he has been giving away branded jackets to cultural and sports figures he considers true greats.

When asked about bbc entertainment correspondent Colin Paterson which British personalities he most admired, Boyle's name stood out as a surprising but significant choice.

Chalamet recalled that he was just 13 years old when Boyle's audition aired and described the moment as unforgettable.

“I remember it like it was yesterday,” he said. “That was like the arrival of YouTube, you know?”
