The United States threatens the action against foreigners praising Kirk killing

A man has a photo of Charlie Kirk during a vigil under the line “in memory of Charlie Kirk, for freedom, patriotism and justice” in front of the United States embassy after the activist of the right of the United States, commentator, Charlie Kirk, an ally of the president of the United States, Donald Trump, was shot dead during an event in Utah Valley University, EE. UU., USA, in Berlin, September, September, 11, 202, 202., 2025.

The Undersecretary of State of the United States, Christopher Landau, warned on Thursday that Washington can take measures against foreigners “praising, rationalizing or making light” of the murder of conservative activist Charlie Kirk, and added that he had ordered consular officials to take appropriate measures.

“In the light of yesterday's horrible murder of a leading political figure, I want to underline that foreigners who glorify violence and hatred are not welcome to the visitors of our country,” Landau said in a publication on the social media platform X.

“I have been disliked to see some on social networks praising, rationalizing or recovering the event, and I have addressed our consular officials to undertake an appropriate action.”

Landau did not elaborate what that action would mean.

Some users responded to the publication of Landau with screenshots of accounts and publications, although it was not clear if the accounts they marked were holders of US visas.

The number two of the State Department responded to some of those comments, saying that it would lead consular officials to monitor comments in the post, which until Thursday afternoon had more than 2,000 responses.

A state department spokesman asked about Landau's post, “this administration does not believe that the United States should give visas to people whose presence in our country does not align with the national security interests of the United States.”

But the spokesman did not address questions about whether someone had been identified to revoke their visa or how consular officials would evaluate the marked in response to Landau's post.

Kirk, a 31 -year -old author, Podcast presenter and nearby ally of US President Donald Trump, helped build the support of the Republican party among younger voters. He was killed Wednesday by a single shot when he gave a talk at a university in Utah in what President Donald Trump called an “atrocious murder.”

The Trump administration has followed a radical repression against immigration, including the increase in social networks investigation and revoke thousands of students' visas and with the aim of hardening the duration of others.
