Almost 40 years after the dectones race, the band raised in Sacramento is anything but an inherited act. “Having all this new generation of eyes on us and more attention now than we have had in decades. With “Private Music”, Deftones once again joined forces with Nick Raskulinecz, who produced “Diamond Eyes” and “Koi no Yokan” of 2012 (“Doube, we have to finish the triumph!”, Says Moreno, says Raskulinecz every time they saw each other). “'I think of you all the time' was written in Malibu at 8 in the morning and it was quite fast,” he says. “We put it aside then, after dinner that night, we made a coffee and we went out and we finished it. While with 'Ecdysis', it was the last song we wrote, and it was while we were in the studio. We were looking at our collection of songs that we already had and simply went, like, 'Ok, where does it fit into this lot of songs?' We wanted something irregular and also a bit strange that it was more experimental but with an aggressive approach. “
As their tours have become larger, external factors have given the band a new appreciation for their continuous success.
