Internet services and popular social media apps were hit by outages on Sunday night, as users across almost the entire country reported errors and connection interruptions.
Netizens complained about their inability to connect to social media sites, including X (formerly known as Twitter), Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and streaming giant YouTube.
According to downdetector.pk, Google services and internet service provider PTCL also suffered disruptions around 5 pm on Sunday.
The downdetector graphs showed a sharp increase in connection interruptions on YouTube, X and Facebook.
The reason for the outage is still unclear as the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has not issued any statement in this regard till filing this report.
