Sehwan accident claims six lives


At least six people were killed and several others injured in a road accident on the Indus Highway near Manjhand in the early hours of Wednesday. Geographic news reported.

The death toll is feared to rise as most of the injured are said to be in critical condition.

The accident occurred when three vehicles, a passenger bus, a tanker truck and a mini truck, collided with each other.

SSP Jamshoro Muhammad Tariq Nawaz confirmed six deaths and said 28 injured were shifted to a nearby hospital in Manjhand. Among the injured, seven are in critical condition.

According to witnesses, the rescue operation began with considerable delay. In addition to the police, the local population and passengers of other vehicles participated in the rescue.

The police officer, speaking to Geo News, said that the reason for the accident is yet to be confirmed. He said that investigations are being carried out to clarify the facts of the accident.
