Rebel Wilson Reveals Which 'Pitch Perfect' Co-Star Made Her Want to Direct

Rebel Wilson credits her co-star Elizabeth Banks for inspiring her to pursue directing.

The actress, famous for her role in Pitch perfectmade her directorial debut with The Deb, a musical comedy that premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival on September 14.

In an interview with PEOPLEWilson shared that watching Banks direct Pitch Perfect 2 In 2015, his interest in cinema was awakened.

“Elizabeth Banks came in as a first-time director and directed Pitch 2, and it was a total success. I think all of us girls watched it and were like, 'What?'” she added, “It was inspiring for us to be able to go out and do it.”

This realization also affected his colleagues. Pitch perfect Co-stars Anna Kendrick and Brittany Snow, who have since gone on to direct their own films.

Wilson explained that they keep in touch through a text group, where they support each other in their projects.

“We talk about what we do and we support each other a lot. We are very different girls and I'm sure the films we are creating are very, very different,” she said.
