Queen Camilla Shares King Charles’ Adorable Talent That He Uses to Spell His Grandchildren
Queen Camilla will premiere her own podcast series continuing her work promoting literacy. The eight-episode show titled The Queen’s Reading Room You’ll see Camilla talk about books and literature when it premieres on January 8.
In the first episode, Camilla shares ideas about reading with her grandchildren. She revealed that she enjoys Harry Potter series, but admitted to being “hopeless” at voice acting unlike her husband, King Charles, who “does it brilliantly” and “can do all the voices.” According to Camilla, Charles leaves his grandchildren “bewitched” by his talented impressions.
“I think what I enjoyed reading the most was Harry Potter… all the stories.”
She said: “I can’t imitate voices for love or money. I’m completely useless at that. I was a very bad actress at school and have never been able to master the art of imitation.”
Praising Charles’ skills, she added: “Sometimes when we’re with my husband in Scotland, he reads Harry Potter to them. And he does all the voices, because he’s a brilliant imitator.”
Camilla’s podcast represents the latest expansion of her Queen’s Reading Room initiative which began as an Instagram book club. It has become a full-fledged charity supporting literacy programmes. Events include an annual literary festival at Hampton Court Palace.
Each episode will feature commentary from Camilla and interviews with the authors. Crime writer Peter James appears in the debut. Camilla is a patron of numerous organizations focused on reading, library building, and children’s engagement with books.
