Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Punjab Chief Ministerial candidate Maryam Nawaz has revealed her action plan for the province as she prepares to take office for five years.

Addressing the media after the PML-N parliamentary meeting on Wednesday, Maryam said, “A new era will usher in Punjab. I congratulate the PML-N for achieving victory. [and gaining a majority in the Punjab Assembly].”

If elected to power, Maryam will become the first woman elected chief minister in Pakistan's more than seven decades of history. She will take charge of the province with a population of more than 127 million people, more than half of Pakistan's population.

“It was a difficult election, I thank the people of Punjab for giving us a clear majority. We will set service records; I have not rested since the election results, we will all have to work as a team,” he added.

Maryam, who holds the portfolios of senior vice president and chief organizer of the PML-N, said it was a “great honour” for her to be nominated as the first chief minister of Punjab and dedicated it to the “daughters, mothers, sisters and reserved people” . women of the seats.”

The CM candidate said the province faces “significant challenges” in the health care and education sectors, as well as local government. “There is also a big problem with wastewater and drinking water in rural areas.”

Maryam told the newly elected MPAs that they would have to consider the 297 constituencies of Punjab as 297 districts to ensure development in each legislator's constituency.

“I have worked in the Safe Punjab Programme; We will have to expand the Safe City Project to all cities. To improve the environment of women police stations, we will create model women police stations,” she stated.

He added that his government would also address the traffic problem in Lahore. Lamenting that there is no IT city in the entire country, he promised to establish five of them across the province.

“We will also deliver marriage, death and car certificates to people's homes,” he said, adding that his government will also provide interest-free loans to young people. “We will redesign health cards and guarantee treatment in public and private hospitals.”

The CM candidate also promised to work in the health and education sectors and in providing employment and housing to the people of the province.

“We will build one hundred thousand houses for the poor, offer interest-free loans to youth and merit-based scholarships to young students to study abroad,” he added.
