ISLAMABAD: Amid allegations of manipulation of results in the February 8 elections, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) urged Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Qazi Faez Isa to take note suo moto about the alleged fraud at the polls. News reported on Sunday.

In a letter to the CJP, PTI spokesperson Shoaib Shaheen sought action by the top judge over alleged rigging in NA-47 and NA-48 constituencies, which he said will be the first drop of rain for the supremacy of the Constitution. , the rule of law, guaranteeing fundamental rights and promoting democracy in the country.

The February 8 elections have been marred by allegations of rigging with the PTI, Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F), Grand Democratic Alliance (GDA) and others complaining of fraudulent results in several districts elections throughout the country.

A day earlier, Rawalpindi Commissioner Liaquat Ali Chatha made shocking revelations of being complicit in large-scale electoral fraud, while leveling serious allegations against Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Sikandar Sultan Raja and the CJP.

“We have turned the losers into winners with a margin of 50,000 votes,” he said during a press conference at the Rawalpindi cricket stadium as he resigned and surrendered to the authorities.

Reacting to the allegations, the CJP Isa demanded proof of his involvement in rigging the February 8 elections.

“They make unfounded accusations. There is no truth to them and no evidence is presented,” the top judge said in a statement.

Shaheen, in his letter to the Chief Justice, narrated the details of the alleged fraud in NA-47 constituency and emphasized that as per Form 45, he polled 104,578 votes to win by a margin of 53,000 votes.

However, he highlighted that in Form 47, he was declared invalid with only 86,794 votes, while Tariq Fazal Chaudhry of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) was declared winner with 101,397 votes.

“Though I had got the lead with 104,577 votes as per form 45, while the said candidate got only 51,613 votes,” Shaheen claimed, adding that the same form is maintained by the 45 contesting candidates, including Mustafa Nawaz Khokhar, Kashif Chaudhary and Hafiz Khawar. Ikhlas et al.

“After verifying Form 45, the issuance of Form 47 and final result and notification in light of the same should be ordered and the person who brings or uses the manipulated document should also be ordered to go to prison and this exercise can be done in just three days,” he said.

He further highlighted that this verification can be carried out by all district and session judges, who can be assisted by additional session judges and also senior civil judges.

Regretting that there are questions over the fulfillment of basic human rights and especially the sanctity and honor of voting, on which billions of rupees were spent in the elections, he said: “The right to vote has become a mere spectacle among common citizens and whether “If this is not addressed in time, anarchy will spread within Pakistan,” the PTI leader concluded.
