Pakistan Telecommunication Company Ltd (PTCL) Internet services have faced disruptions in several cities across the country, the telecom company said in a statement.
“Currently, PTCL network is facing data outages in several cities due to which connectivity has been affected,” a PTCL spokesperson said in a statement.
“Our teams are actively working to resolve and rectify the issue as quickly as possible,” the spokesperson added.
In a statement on X, Netblocks, which tracks internet disruptions, digital governance and connectivity, confirmed widespread internet disruption in Pakistan.
“Live network data shows a nationwide disruption of internet connectivity in Pakistan,” Netblocks said.
He noted that the metrics show nationwide connectivity at 24% of ordinary levels, corroborating user reports of “widespread disruption.”
Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) also confirmed the disruption of internet services in the country.
In its announcement on social media, the PTA reiterated that internet services have suffered “to some extent” in some parts of the country due to some “glitch in the PTCL system.”
In a statement, the telecom regulator said authorities were monitoring the situation until internet/broadband services returned to normal for all users and that work was underway to resolve the issue as soon as possible.
