Prince William is on a mission to end homelessness in the United Kingdom, a mission strongly inspired by his late mother, Princess Diana.
The Prince of Wales launched Homewards a year ago, on June 26. On the first anniversary of the humanitarian project, a royal expert intervened in the initiative.
“It's a hugely ambitious project – to show that ending homelessness is possible and it's something no government has ever come close to doing,” Jennie Bond said. OK!.
Jennie praised William for being so involved in the project, saying: “I admire the way William takes a fresh, modern approach to social issues and actively gets involved whenever he can, despite the pressures of Kate's illness.” .
He went on to credit the late Princess Diana for William's awareness of homelessness: “The scourge of homelessness is something his mother made him aware of when he was just a child.”
“What other young Prince has ever been shown what it's like to live on the streets, taken to visit homeless shelters, and learned firsthand what it's like to be depressed?” he asked.
“Diana must take a lot of the credit for making William the person he is and for his determination to make some real changes in our society. It is brave to prepare for possible failure. The task is enormous and good for William for trying to make a mark the difference,” he added.
