Prince William let the public see his emotions at the European Championship, says a body language expert.
The Prince of Wales, famous for hiding his emotions, unleashed his raw side as he watched England's quarter-final against Switzerland in Dusseldorf.
Speaking on behalf of Betfair Casino, expert Darren Stanton said: “We saw William much more relaxed than ever. During many of his engagements as Prince of Wales, William displays feelings of happiness when necessary, but still displays a professional demeanor.
“Normally William would smile and walk with a confident stride to show his genuine delight, but this time he went one step further. It was fantastic to see a very expressive side of the Prince. Singing with the crowd, punching the air with his fist and flashing huge smiles were all examples of William expressing his raw emotions.”
Darren added: “He didn't hold back or hesitate in any way when it came to any emotion he was feeling. This shows how confident he is in letting go in certain situations.”
She said: “Seeing such honesty and raw emotion from William was a rare sight. If this were a royal visit, William would have toned down those emotions. It shows he wanted to come across as approachable, trustworthy and honest.”
This comes as England reach the final after a fierce semi-final match with the Netherlands.
