Prince Harry admits he made a strange request when Meghan Markle visited India in 2017.
The Duke of Sussex then told his future wife not to take a photo with the Taj Mahal to save her from unpleasant media headlines.
Harry wrote in his memoir, Spare: “Don't take a photo in front of the Taj Mahal. She asked me why and I said, 'My mom.' I explained that my mother had posed for a photo there, and it had become iconic and not “I wanted no one to think that Meg was trying to imitate my mother.”
“Meg had never heard of this photo and found the whole thing disconcerting, and I loved her for being disconcerted,” Harry admitted.
Prince Harry left the Royal Family in 2020 along with his wife Meghan Markle and their son, Prince Archie. The couple later accused the Royal Family of showing racism towards their son and publicly shared their complaints on television. Harry and Meghan now live in California, where they also welcomed their daughter, Princess Lilibet.
