Prince Albert of Monaco leads Monaco's explorations in the Aegean Sea

Prince Albert of Monaco has just shared a video on his official social media account, showing Monaco's explorations currently underway in the Aegean Sea.

The mission, “Mission Grèce des Explorations de Monaco,” showed the prince in meetings and talked about the exploration itself.

The title provides more detailed information and reads: “as part of the current Monaco Explorations mission in Greece, Prince Albert II of Monaco visited the Sporades archipelago in the Aegean Sea this Thursday, October 9.”

This meeting was for his meeting with members of the conservation of the Alonissos National Marine Park – Northern Sporades, an “elevated site of Mediterranean biodiversity”.

“The Sovereign Prince boarded a NECCA ship to reach the island of Skopelos, where he explored, on the water, the famous caves that are home to the Mediterranean monk seal, an iconic and threatened species,” the caption also states.

Without forgetting that “the Principality of Monaco and the Prince Albert II Foundation, through the Monk Seal Alliance consortium, have been working for many years for the conservation of this species, promoting research programs, scientific cooperation and protection of marine habitats throughout the Mediterranean basin.”

It closed with the words: “this intimate relationship with the marine environment is essential to better understand and protect it.”
