Fuerza Regida frontman Jesus Ortiz Pas, or JOP, said his latest effort was a huge leap of faith, featuring a combination of corridos, Mexican music and Jersey club music. Tracks like “Freestyle” and “Fresita” (featuring Bellakath) infuse fast-paced house, hip-hop and drum beats familiar from the Jersey music scene with JOP’s gritty corrido style and bold lyricism.
“If you don't take the risk, there's no reward,” JOP told De Los.
The album also incorporates elements of EDM with hints of reggaeton along with collaborations with Maluma, Major Lazer and Afrojack, among others.
In April, the band exhausted large-capacity stadiums in Phoenix, Dallas and Los Angeles as part of their “Pero No Te Enamores” summer tour, which prompted the addition of more dates.
“I feel like people in the U.S. identify with Fuerza Regida,” JOP said. “Everyone Without sabosAll the pochos know that our culture is a different culture born here [rather] that there.”
