Nicole Kidman misses 'Baby Girl' premiere for heartbreaking reason

Nicole Kidman recently shared the tragic reason for her absence from the premiere of her film Baby girl.

Kidman had to miss the premiere of her upcoming film at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) on September 12 due to the passing of her mother.

The Australian actress sent a note through the film's director, Halina Rejin.

Helina informed the audience about Kidman's absence saying: “We just came back from Venice, where we had the world premiere of our film, and it was quite an emotional experience, as you may have read, because Nicole Kidman had just won the award for best actress.”

The director added: “Unfortunately, just before he went on stage and accepted the award, he sadly learned of his mother's passing and had to rush to his family, and that is why he is not here with us tonight.”

“But she wanted us all to know that she was very excited about this day. It's very special for us. This is our North American premiere,” she continued.

In addition, the Big little lies The actress dedicated the award to her late mother, writing that she arrived in Italy only to learn of the passing of her “beautiful and brave mother,” Janelle Ann Kidman.

“I'm in shock and have to tell my family, but this award is for her. She shaped me, guided me, and created me. I'm beyond grateful to be able to say her name to all of you through Halina. The collision of life and art is heartbreaking and my heart is shattered.”

Before concluding, Helina ended the note by expressing her love for Kidman, saying: “We love you all, Nicole.”
