‘Game of Thrones’ creator George RR Martin reveals three animated spin-offs are in the works
George RR Martin, the brain behind the world-successful fantasy novel game of Thronesrevealed that the Westeros universe is expanding as the author revealed that three animated spin-offs are in the works.
On his blog, the noted writer wrote: “It just so happens that HBO and I have our own animated projects, set in the world of A Song of Ice and Fire.”
However, the novelist revealed that the two projects are not yet finalized to move forward.
“None of them have been greenlit yet, but I think we’re getting close to taking the next step with a couple of them.”
George shared, “When this latest round of development began a few years ago, we had four ideas for animated shows, with great talent attached.”
“In due course, writers’ rooms and summits, outlines and scripts emerged… but, unfortunately, two of the original projects were subsequently shelved,” says the 75-year-old.
Meanwhile, George revealed the Dragon House prequel nine trips has gone from live action to animation.
