Once, Michael Fassbender was in a race to play iconic spy 007 in Casino Royale.

But during the hearing, the actor instead of taking his name argued Daniel Craig, who later played the character.

“I met with Barbara Broccoli just through death, and I actually went to a hearing phase before Daniel was chosen,” he recalled in an interview with the Happy sad confused podcast.

But, the star of Steve Jobs added that he believed that his chances of leading the race were low.

“I don't think it's in the mixture,” he continued. “But I remember having entered that room and meeting her and Wilson, and I thought: 'I think Daniel Craig is …' I don't know why I was promoting it. I should have promoted me … I was terrible in the auditions.”

Michael, meanwhile, also got excited about Daniel. “Obviously, Daniel did a fantastic job and I think it was the most successful link in history.”

“That was all, really. There was never a conversation after that, ”he concluded.
