News that Meghan Markle's father set up a GoFundMe for her birthday celebrations has led to some candid admissions from one expert.
For those who don't know, the person who organised all this was Lady Collin Campbell, a British socialite known for her outspokenness towards the Duchess of Sussex.
Former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond reflected on the whole situation, calling it “a ridiculous idea” at first glance.
During his interview with OK The magazine quoted Ms Bond as saying: “I think it's quite a ridiculous idea to set up a fund for Thomas Markle.”
Because “I regret that his daughter doesn’t want him in her life and I think it’s quite cruel of Meghan. However, he has another daughter and a son who can surely take care of their father perfectly well.”
“There are so many people in the world who need the money far more than Mr Markle. So I think this is a malicious move to make Meghan look bad.”
He added: “Meghan appears to have completely severed all ties with her American family, apart from her mother and perhaps a cousin.”
“I think it is a great shame and it is incredibly sad for Thomas not to be able to meet his son-in-law and his grandchildren. But families are complicated and feelings run deep.”
“Both Samantha and Thomas Junior have said some outrageous things about Meghan, and Samantha is still waiting for her day in court. It’s all incredibly sad.”
