Kate Beckinsale hints at illness that hospitalized her

Kate Beckinsale appears to have left the hospital and returned home after a months-long medical issue.

The English actress was all smiles and irreverent again in an Instagram series posted on Tuesday. While the “Underworld” star didn't directly say what had been ailing her, the T-shirt she was wearing in the images contained the biggest clue yet: “Tummy Troubles Survivor,” she said, with an illustration of an armored bunny behind it. . a medieval shield.

The 50-year-old captioned her post with a muscle-flexing emoji and a white heart, but did not add any further details. Some photos of her showed her cuddling with her Pomeranian, who was wearing little mittens on her front paws, and another image of her showed her cuddling her furry cat Willow, all from the comfort of her luxurious bedroom.

A spokesperson for Beckinsale did not immediately respond Wednesday to the Times' request for comment.

The “The Aviator” and “Pearl Harbor” star revealed she was sick in a since-deleted March 11 Instagram post honoring her mother on Mother's Day in the United Kingdom. She did not reveal the nature of the illness or why she had been admitted to a hospital, but she shared a series of photographs of herself from her medical-grade bed. Concern increased when the actress continued to share updates from the medical center and was visited by her pets. In an Instagram Story on March 14, several months after the death of her stepfather Roy Battersby, Beckinsale wrote that she feels pain in many ways.

On Tuesday, fans took to the comments section of her latest post to share their well wishes and relief over her apparent recovery.

“Glad to see you back home with furbabies ❤️ I need that shirt!!!! Colitis survivor ❤️,” said one commenter.

“I'm so glad to see you're better! I've been worried all this time. Very nice photos and thanks for the relief,” wrote another.
