Jill Zarin has broken her silence after being fired MY!the next Real Housewives of New York City reunion series, The golden lifefollowing backlash over his comments about Bad Bunny's 2026 Super Bowl halftime show.
talking to In contact On Tuesday, February 10, the 62-year-old reality TV veteran said she felt blindsided by the decision.
“They didn't even give me a chance,” Zarin said, referring to a video he posted on social media criticizing the performance, which he later deleted.
“I deleted it right away. People make mistakes. I'm human.”
The network's decision was confirmed that same day, and producers announced that Zarin would no longer be part of the project.
In a statement to Us weeklyBlink49 Studios said: “In light of recent public comments made by Jill Zarin, Blink49 Studios has decided to not move forward with its participation in The golden life. “We remain committed to offering the series in accordance with our company standards and values.”
The move came just days after Zarin publicly criticized Bad Bunny's appearance at the Super Bowl halftime show on Sunday, February 8.
In the now-deleted video, he called the globally watched performance “the worst halftime show ever” and criticized both the language and the staging.
“I just don't think it was appropriate to have it in Spanish and, frankly…grabbing his [expletive] area… I think it was totally inappropriate,” he said in the clip.
“You have all these little kids watching the Super Bowl, and he doesn't have to hold on every five seconds because it's so insecure. Seriously.”
He went on to add that he did not understand the lyrics and claimed that the program was politically charged, saying that it “seemed like a political statement” and suggesting that it was related to immigration issues.
His comments spread quickly online and sparked strong reactions, with many viewers rejecting his interpretation of the performance.
The criticism did not end there.
The view addressed Zarin's comments during a “Hot Topics” segment, while several real housewives Stars, including Bethenny Frankel, Lisa Rinna and Tamra Judge, publicly praised Bad Bunny's show.
Zarin's own daughter, Ally Shapiro, also spoke out in defense of the artist.
Despite Zarin's departure, The golden life progresses as planned. The 10-episode series will reunite Luann de Lesseps, Ramona Singer, Kelly Bensimon and Sonja Morgan, with filming set to begin this spring in South Florida.
The show follows the former New York-based group of friends as they reunite again in Palm Beach, Florida.
For now, Zarin maintains that the consequences have been harsh and immediate, insisting that he was not given the opportunity to address the situation before losing his place on the series.
