Jane's Addiction may have suffered a pretty major setback during their ongoing reunion tour.
As the reunion of the original lineup lasted only a few months, the band took to their official social media accounts to announce their hiatus on September 16, 2024.
The band, which consists of four members — vocalist Perry Farrell, guitarist Dave Navarro, drummer Stephen Perkins and bassist Eric Avery — announced their decision following a recent disturbance that occurred onstage during their Friday night performance.
“To all fans, the band has made the difficult decision to take some time off as a group. As a result, we will be cancelling the remainder of our tour,” the band wrote in their statement.
They continued: “Refunds for cancelled dates will be issued at the point of purchase or, if you purchased from a third-party resale site such as StubHub, SeatGeek, etc., please contact them directly. Thank you, Jane's Addiction.”
Additionally, Dave, Stephen and Eric, who wrote their own statements, wrote: “Due to an ongoing pattern of behaviour and the mental health difficulties of our lead singer Perry Farrell, we have come to the conclusion that we have no choice but to cut short the current US tour.”
“Our concern for his personal health and safety, as well as our own, has left us with no alternative. We hope he finds the help he needs,” they added.
The three members continued, “We deeply regret that we will not be able to serve all of our fans who have already purchased tickets. We do not see any solution that will ensure a safe environment on stage or allow us to put on a great show every night.”
“We are heartbroken. Dave, Eric and Stephen,” Jane's Addiction said in parting.
