Kobe the Husky dog was hailed as a hero as he saves the neighborhood from a gas leak explosion.

Kobe's owner, Chanell Bell, shared a video of the dog, who can be seen digging a hole in her front yard, on Instagram. Wion reported.

Surprised by the dog's act, Bell thought, “This is not like him.”

“I already had a reader at home to make sure my old heater wasn't leaking,” the pet parent explained. “When I saw the hole, I realized it was strange behavior on my dog's part. My intuition told me to check it out.”

Bell found the presence of the gas leak in the same place where the dog was digging when he found nothing suspicious inside.

The device detected gas coming from the hole the husky dug, so Bell immediately contacted authorities about the problem.

A gas foreman and crew were sent to troubleshoot the problem and discover the extent of the dangerous leak.

After this, crews repaired the leak and said that if Kobe hadn't seen it, even turning on a light switch could have put Bell's home and his life at risk.

While repairing, the team discovered three major gas leaks in the Bell neighborhood caused by aging pipes. It took workers three days to install new pipes and repair leaks.

Bell said, adding, “It's awesome knowing Kobe saved our block, I'm so grateful to have him.”
