Hugh Jackman's real-life divorce is played up as a joke in his new film.
The 55-year-old actor did not hesitate and let his personal matter become the joke of the moment. Deadpool and Wolverine.
In the film, Jackman starred alongside Proposal actor Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool while Hugh reprised his role as Wolverine.
During one of the shots where Renolds' character Deadpool introduces Wolverine, he pokes fun at Jackman's split from Deborra-Lee Furness.
“He's usually shirtless, but he's gotten carried away since the divorce,” Deadpool told Jackman's character Wolverine, who later appears shirtless in a few scenes in the film.
It is pertinent to mention that Jackman and Deborra Lee publicly revealed that they will separate in September 2023 after 27 years of marriage.
The couple share two children: Oscar, 23, and Ava, 19.
Besides, Deadpool and Wolverine It included multiple jokes and one-liners, including quips about Reynolds and Jackman's house and nods to Reynolds' wife, Blake Lively.
Additionally, the film's script is written by Zeb Wells, Rhett Reese, Paul Wernick and Reynolds and is directed by Shawn Levy.
