LAHORE: Setting an example of honesty, the highway police on Tuesday safely returned to its owner a woman's jewelery worth Rs 400,000 which she had left in a bus.

The highway police spokesperson said the family traveling from Karachi to Lahore had accidentally left the expensive jewelery in the bus.

According to details, the family informed helpline 130 that their jewelery was missing.

Following this, patrol officers Imran and Umar found the jewelery in the bus near Samundri town in Faisalabad district, the spokesperson said.

The official said they contacted the family and returned the bag of jewelry.

If you are lucky, you may be able to recover lost valuables, although this does not happen often.

In a similar incident in August 2023, Karachi Police recovered lost gold jewelery worth Rs 4 million and returned it safely to its owner.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Malir Hasan Sardar Niazi said that a passenger, Saira Mustafa Sheikh, arrived in Karachi from Islamabad on a flight.

The SSP said that upon arriving home, she noticed that one of her suitcases was missing, which she remembered she had forgotten to pick up from the luggage cart in the airport parking area.

The woman later lodged a complaint with the airport police station stating that the missing bag contained jewelery worth Rs 4 million, Rs 40,000 in cash, several bank cards and some documents.
