KARACHI: Brace yourselves, Karachiites! The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast the possibility of heavy rain and thunderstorms to hit parts of the port city today (Monday).

According to the forecast, during the next 24 hours, the weather in Karachi is expected to remain cloudy with 92% humidity in the air and sea winds blowing at a low speed.

The maximum temperature in the city is likely to range between 30°C and 32°C, while the minimum temperature recorded will be 27°C, the meteorological department said.

Chief Meteorologist Sardar Sarfraz revealed that there is a possibility of intermittent rains during the day and night in Karachi as a result of low atmospheric pressure near western Sindh.

“There is a possibility of cloudiness and light rain or drizzle in the city tomorrow (Tuesday) as well. Another monsoon system may enter eastern Sindh,” he added.

He added that a monsoon system is likely to enter the region from Rajasthan, India on August 10 or 11, followed by a possibility of rain on August 12 or 13 in the areas affected by this system.

Moreover, following the recent rains, the weather in the provincial capital of Sindh has taken a pleasant turn, giving residents a much-needed respite from the previously persistent heat.
