Steve Burton spoke about his experience filming the final scenes in general hospital with Kelly Monaco.
Burton revealed that saying goodbye to his longtime co-star Monaco was harder than he thought.
During his daily drama On the podcast, Burton said, “I was really lost in the sense that I wasn't sure how to play this. Obviously, we have a great story.”
“Obviously, we've worked together for a long time, so there were all these things happening, but I didn't have a clear vision,” he added.
She recalled how her character had to say goodbye to Monaco's character before her death, saying, “I had to film that stuff with her first and then back off.”
“It was very sad because Kelly was obviously leaving, and then the emotion of the character passing away and all that stuff, and I thought everyone really did a wonderful job,” Burton said.
He added: “It was really interesting to have gotten all that emotion out and then to have to come back. “I know people in movies do this all the time, but as an actor, it's not your favorite thing to do.”
Additionally, her co-star Maurice Benard offered his support saying, “Whatever happens there is supposed to happen.”
“You don't have to force anything. Just let it work,” he added.
